MPUC APPROVES SETTLEMENT REGARDING FRONTIER’S TELEPHONE SERVICE QUALITY
In October 2019, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission held a hearing regarding a settlement between Frontier Communications and the Minnesota Department of Commerce. The settlement came after the Commission received a large volume of complaints regarding Frontier’s telephone service quality, customer service, and billing practice and after the Department of Commerce investigated Frontier’s alleged violation of Minnesota’s state telecommunications regulatory statutes.
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission released its Order approving the settlement with modifications on January 22, 2020. The settlement is now in effect and Frontier must begin reporting its compliance with the service quality metrics set forth in the settlement.
